That Was Soundwaves Minecraft 2017

A quick look back at the server. A few pics from the party! The full results & comments. The World for you to download. THE OFFICIAL VIDEO! And links to stuff about Skerries Soundwaves Minecraft 2017 online

A quick look back at the server.

Four days of online fun. Lots of people who had been with us before, and also new faces, or should I say skins? Every year is different, but wututui, SoundwavesMiner and 48072 really enjoyed watching this year’s community come together and fill the space – starting in the harbour area and on Red Island, but then also spilling into the town itself and to South Strand.

We even have a map of the settlement! See two players admiring it.

Who made it? Sagoskatt did!

Here are just a few snapshots I (Sabine aka SoundwavesMiner) took.

And some pics from the party.

The full results & comments.

The build-off (which you can see in the photographs) was won by Lord3p1k; he was followed by Cookie6784 and TheSweeney20. Congratulations and thanks for playing!

The judging of the full competition, done by Sabine and Ciarán this year, was extremely difficult and took a long time. The builds were all really good, we were very impressed by the amount of thought and skill that went into them. In the end, we tried to pick Skerries winners that were close to what they were copying… (otherwise they’d be Fantasy!) – in the Fantasy section, we liked where imagination & skills were combined to create particularly outstanding builds.

A Thank You to our sponsors!

Storm in a Teacup, our beloved ice cream shop, generously donated 2 x €20 vouchers, and two more €20 vouchers were donated by Blue. Those made the First Prizes for the Skerries competition and the Fantasy competition respectively. The Bubble Room donated a €10 voucher for the first prize for the build-off, and Olive gave us a €10 voucher, which was the  2nd prize in the Fantasy (Junior) competition.

The other prizes (mainly Stormy vouchers) were purchased out of the funds we had available. The party was sponsored by Soundwaves Festival, thank you!

The World For You to Download

For those of you who would like to download the final Skerries world of 2017, here is the link (we’re not sure how long Mediafire will allow the link to be there, we added it around the 28th of September, so better move fast): xy3j27j5e22283n/SoundwavesMine

Instructions for downloading and using the world:

Please note that the image shows the 2015 version, so your file name will look different this time.

Download the zip and unzip it into your Minecraft Worlds folder. To find that, go to file manager and search for %appdata% –
That means: Click into the top bit of the file manager window
and then type in “%appdata%” and hit return
you should see a folder called .minecraft – and inside that folder, find the folder “saves” and unzip the Zip file into it. It should look like this:
Now, a word of warning – it’s just a copy of the world, without all the bells and whistles that came with the server, so no protecting, /home, /spawn etc. But on the upside – it’s yours to do with as you please!

The Official Video

Skerries Soundwaves Minecraft 2017 online!

(We’ll be adding to this list as we can.) (*Did YOU make a video? Let us have the link and we’ll add it here!*)

BenK05 created a video of himself flying around the world & commenting on a number of builds (note: He may have remembered some of the details wrong, so if he mentions you instead of somebody else, please forgive him, there were so many on the server!). If you go to his MooMoo channel, you can also see videos about his own builds. Thanks, BenK05!
